John Legend- Selfish (Solo Remix)
Here's a dope live rendition of the Slum Village/John Legend collab, "Selfish." In this version, John Legend is singing the verses and the hooks all by himself. It's an oldie but goodie. "Baby you made the team, now go cook my favorite thing, greens and some chicken wings, taste so good that you make me wanna sing" hahaha. This will most definitely put a smile on your face.

DJ Haylow- A Tribe Called Quest: Queens Representatives
From my good homie's blog. enjoy!
Once upon a time, Distortion 2 Static had a radio show hosted my myself and Beats Me. We would do tributes, themes and such, and one episode we did a tribute to Tribe Called Quest. I did an ALL TRIBE mix for about 90 min straight, and me and Beats me had mic breaks discussing one of the best Hip Hop groups of all time. We discontinued the radio show, but I still had the mix, so I figured I would release it to the many who haven't heard it; fix the levels, add artwork, and give it a title, and voila! New Mixtape! So this is a joint I did about 2 years ago, and it's a straight shot...no multi-tracking or edits, so please excuse the mistakes. With that said, it gets the stamp of approval. This one goes out to all the Tribe enthusiasts across the globe.

Outkast- Idlewild (OST)
I have to admit, I really slept on this album and movie. I finally got a chance to check out the film a few months back and I thought it was a good representation of how innovative and creative Outkast is. My only knock on this Soundtrack is that they don't have the slower version of Andre's "She lives in my lap" which was in a pivotal point in the film. Nevertheless, this is a dope album and a must-have for any Outkast fan. Peace!!!
Andre 3000's verse from "Chronomentrophobia"
Lord, please have mercy on my soul,
I have the impression that my life goin' to be a bowl with cherries,
but it's going to be very hard for me to cope,
tired of being broke,
this ATLian aint' got no time to sit and mope,
made up my mind while yall made up yo beds,
on a cold wooden floor is where I lie my head,
born in 1975,
Never thought I would make it this far, I'm still battilin' this racial war,
tryin' to find solutions of the situation I face,
the only thing that is free is my flow that yall be chasin',
lettin' my niggas know before I go,
I drop that knowledge like dropping books,
lets stop the crooks from robbing you from your reins and such,
using wellfare as a cruch,
im in it for good,
you into my hood you wont be findin' much,
hope that when im gone yall remember this,
what we stood for,
fuck that fame make that glits,
it's begening to look a lot like the ending, got to be more careful,
know what corners you be benden, revalations is getting impatient,
now i'm dead,
remember what I said,
i'm gone,
bow yo heads

Jay-Z- Death of Autotune (Prod by Kanye and NO I.D.)
Here's a new track by Jay-Z proclaiming the death of the highly used studio effect, Autotune. This proves that Jay-Z is the master of trendsetters. Fisrt he got everyone to rock throwbacks, then he turned in the jersey for a tailored suit. I'm glad he's using his appeal to filter out the bs in hip-hop.
